Agora já são muitas as funções exercidas pelo artista ao longo destes 50 anos de ofício. Por vários anos trabalhou como diagramador, ilustrador até exercer  a chefia e direção de arte de revistas  ( Editora Abril), e livros (editora Ática) .

Participou do Salão de Verão 1972, no MAM, Rio de Janeiro (Prêmio Aquisição). Em 1973 expõe na Galeria IBEU, no Rio de Janeiro.

Por três anos viveu entre Londres e Paris, onde foi editor de arte da Vision Magazine. Participou em 1975, de Exposição de Ilustradores em Bratislava, antiga Checoslowaquia. Com o livro João Teimoso.

Em 1976 expõe na Bienal de São Paulo.

Como artista gráfico participou de vários projetos de jornais, revistas, livros, alfabetização, catálogos de Moda, programas de Teatro e etc. Desenvolveu trabalhos coporativos para o Banco ITAÚ, UNILEVER, Laboratório Schering-Plough.

Em 2003 sob a curadoria de Vincent Katz participa da exposição Collaborations, na Galeria Alessandra Buonomo, em Roma.’, com recortes em alumíno.

Em 2013 faz individual no Club Athletico Paulistano com recortes e gravuras.

Em 2015 apresenta objetos de design pinturas, sob curadoria de Bel Lacaz

 

Hoje, se dedica  integralmente ao trabalho plástico, pintando e esculpindo peças recortadas a laser com pequenas tiragens e sob encomenda.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1951.

1966 -  started his career at Melodias Magazine

Early 70s embarked on a new role at Editora Abril working alongside Atilio Baschera and Lu Rodrigues for Claudia Magazine. Two years later, Cafiero embarked on a new educational project for the same publishing house where he illustrated the entire collection of Ada Natal Rodrigues named “Tempo de Comunicação”, as well as fascicles and magazine covers of Escola Magazine.

His art work results in several accolades for Editora Abril, both in Sao Paulo and Rio.

1973 -  worked on the illustration of the early editions of Nova Magazine. The first illustration of a children’s book takes place “João Teimoso by Editora Atica”.

Cafiero relocates to London in the same year working as assistant director of art of Vision Magazine which focused on politics with a monthly circulation in the UK. In 1975, his art work takes him to the European city of light, Paris which becomes his base for a year.

1976 – return to his hometown of Sao Paulo to attend the exhibition Bienal Latino Americana.

Embraces his return to Brazil and focuses on several projects and partnerships with:

  • Editora Atica, working alongside Ary Nomanha on the makeover project of the educational material and books of the publishing house.
  • Embarks on the illustration of the book collection “Para Gostar de Ler”, total of xx books
  • Lu Rodrigues and Cafiero get together again in the early 80s to develop a newspaper version of Claudia Moda Magazine, focused on fashion.
  • Directs the art content for the in-flight magazines of Varig and Transbrasil airlines.
  • Art collaboration on architecture, design and article on the Olympic Games on Vogue Brasil.
  • In the 90s, works in collaboration with Sao Paulo’s newspaper Folha de S. Paulo on the column of the renowned journalist Joyce Pascowitch.
  • Graphic design project for the magazine Utilissima of the Brazilian TV personality Ana Maria Braga
  • Theatrical art & visuals for the comedy piece “Solidão” performed by Diogo Vilela and movie “A Mulher do Atirador de Facas”, Abril Video.
  • Creates vignettes for the channel SportTV
  • Develops several art projects with Bureau Santista (Brazilian Denim), interactive presentations for the Human Resources division of Unilever and Shering-Plough.
  • Illustrates the books of Brazilian authors – Murilo Rubião, Lucia Machado de Almeida, Bartolomeu Campos de Queiros and more.
  • Invited to participate at Expo Italia in 2003 by Galeria Alessandra Buonomo.
  • Last exhibitions in Club Athletico Paulistano Art Gallery, curate by Bel Lacaz

At present Cafiero is focusing on his passion, designing art pieces, oil on canvas, sculptures and metal art work.
